Mrs. Helen Onma Jumoke Odeleye is of Benue State origin, married to a yoruba man from Oyo State. A true Nigerian who loves traveling and making friends, speaks fluently the three major Nigerian languages.
Graduated several years back from the Theatre Arts Department of the University of Jos. Also an Alumni of the Train the Trainers Institute, Hilverson in the Neitherlands.
Began this most exciting career of broadcasting in NTA Benin after completing the mandatory National Service in 1983. She had a brief sting as a Lecturer at the Television College in Jos. Joined the NTA Lagos Channel 10 Team in 1993.
Helen Odeleye is a versatile broadcaster, at home with Television Programme Presentation, News Casting, Programme Production, Transmission Directing, Acting, Programme Directing, Script Writing, etc.,
She has produced and directed several programmes, some of which are:- Saturday Show, Happy Hour, New Dawn with Funmi, Trans Africa, The Challenge, The Sunday Show, Femine Flair, Health Forum, Right Balance, Cocktails, Sunday Exclusive Live, Junior Debate, Children’s Variety, Corridors, (just to mention a few).
With a special talent for organizing and producing special events, Helen has organized several high profile and entertaining events such as:- Miss Valentine, Beyond The Pulpit, Choirfest, Easter Groove, Christmas and Independence Specials for Physically challenged children and sick children in Hospitals, Band Stand, both for National and International audience and many more.
Over the years she has presented many programmes such as Personality Platform, Happy Hour, Royalty, Cocktails, Right Balance, Sunday Exclusive, Corridors, Junior Debate and several others. Based on her charm and professionalism, she was specially invited to join the team of presenters on A.M. Express from the Lagos Zonal Centre. For three years, 2004, 2005 and 2006, Helen won first prize position in the Nestle Food and Nutrition competition for media practitioner all over Nigeria.
With hobbies like traveling, meeting people and being hospitable, she is at her best when helping the needy and solving people’s problems.
Helen is a God fearing, dedicated, hard working, humble, detribalized, unassuming and easy going Christians who is propelled and motivated by love and the quest for excellence.
